How to wash your Verona RedBee Damask Cushion

Wash with lukewarm water both by hand and in the washing machine, but do not spin. Use neutral soaps. Iron at low temperature. If you intend to wash the damask cover in the washing machine or by hand, as it is removable, pay attention to the following instructions.

For colored fabrics, normal washing at 30 °C - 40 °C and air drying is recommended. If necessary, iron, preferably inside out. Avoid the use of a tumble dryer, which could puff up the fabric, causing it to fray and fade in color. Additionally, gently spot cleaning with mild detergent can help maintain the fabric's integrity.

Damask is a fabric characterized by plays of light and opacity, more intense color and shades, but above all by a complex weave, therefore difficult to treat. If not cleaned properly, a stain could remain indelible or leave a halo. It is therefore necessary to be very careful and strictly follow the following steps.

The damask fabric should not be treated in any way with aggressive agents that could fade or fray it. To begin washing and maintenance, you should have with you: a horsehair brush or a soft cloth, dry active foam if possible, a mini vacuum cleaner, a gentle solvent. How to proceed, then?

1-Using the horsehair brush, carefully dust the surface, without pressing too hard to avoid damaging it.

2-Next, always use a portable vacuum cleaner with low intensity, so as to completely remove crumbs or dust that may become trapped in corners and small crevices.

3-Spread the dry foam or use a gentle solvent, rubbing lightly with a soft, clean cloth.

4-Wait for the stain to dissolve on its own, leaving the upholstery and the cover to air dry.

The inner part, coated in 100% cotton and filled with polyester fiber, can be machine washed in its entirety without separating its individual components, using a delicate cycle at 40°C.

However, be sure to wash the pillow alone in the machine, without adding other items that could make the load too heavy.

We recommend using liquid detergent placed in the designated compartment, rather than directly in the drum, to prevent any residue from remaining.

Set the spin cycle to moderate to avoid excessive stress on the fibers.

After washing, it's important to massage the filling fibers to promote proper repositioning, restoring the pillow to its original condition. This step only takes a few minutes but ensures an excellent final result.

Now, onto the drying phase. Lay your pillow flat in the open air to prevent deformation due to water weight. Position the drying rack in the shade to prevent direct sunlight exposure, which can cause yellowing over time.

It's best to wash pillows on warmer days to ensure faster drying. Washing in winter may prolong drying time and risk unpleasant odors.

Remember to flip the pillow several times on both sides to ensure proper and thorough drying.

Once the pillows are dry, cover them with clean pillowcases and, only then, with pillow shams.
